Dear loved ones,
Our office replacements will arrive in less than 3 months (on November 18th) and we will have a couple of weeks to train them before we head home! I am trying to savor every minute as the days keep flying by!
You'll have to scroll to the end of the blog to get what I mean by "lost in translation." That is all I am going to say about that.
We have had a week filled with house inspections, time in Rayong, yummy food, patriarchal blessings, and time in the office.
Time for the pictures to tell the story!
But first please know that we miss you and love you and thank you for your love, support, prayers, and kind words.
With love,
Elder and Sister Brady (mom and dad, grandma and grandpa, John and Shelly, and so on)
Saturday morning, we headed out early to drive to Rayong.
Our first stop was at the Sisters condo! Sisters Merritt and Brown passed with flying colors!
After that, we headed to Sizzler's for lunch! We enjoyed the all you can eat Salad Bar!
The missionaries were a little disappointed that it wasn't 139 Baht (about $4 USD) like it was the past few times they went to Sizzler. We found out that was the weekday price! On the weekends it costs 199 Baht (about $6 USD) which was still a pretty good deal! Sisters Brown and Merritt and Elders Tupou and Richards are always fun to spend time with!
On the way back to the car, we saw a creepy white spider on another car's window!
Can you spy the spider?
The next stop was at the Elders apartment for a house inspection.
Elders Tupou and Richards did a fine job.
Throwback to the YSA Conference. We are enjoying the morning devotional.
Elder Brady joins in on the YSA getting to know you games!
Back in Rayong, Elder Brady gets a haircut!
He asked for a number 4 on top!
Meanwhile, I came across this cute picture of our Sister missionaries on Facebook! Haha!
This must be the secret to their beauty!
Throwback to last week when we did a house inspection at their Condo.
Do you recognize them now? Sisters Brooks and Hanks!
This cute robot outside a store in mall!
John purchased some Sketchers and we got this free fanny pack! The employees took a picture of us to give to their corporate office!
We saw this cute T-Shirt and it reminded us of Emily and Brendan's Corgis!
Breakfast of the champions!
More breakfast - if you can call it that!
Sunday morning in the Rayong Branch!
We love this little branch!
Me and Aujima!
Aujima was baptized a year ago and will be going on a mission soon!
We are so excited for her!
My hair has gotten so long! I haven't cut it once in Thailand, so I will definitely be cutting it when I get back home. It has split ends and has gotten so thin. I don't know if it is the heat, the humidity, the stress (I don't feel any!!), or the mango sticky rice, but I have lost so much hair in Thailand!!
Oh, well, what are you going to do??
Sunday evening fireside over Zoom! We love Sister Jenkins and Sister Schaad!
Monday morning we headed to Chonburi and did a house inspection with Elders Winfree and Hiltscher!
There house was spotless!!! It made us very happy and was definitely and A++!!!
We celebrated the great house cleaning job with McDonalds! Yay! The burgers were indeed delicious!
On Monday afternoon, we said goodbye to 3 missionaries. Elders Bergstedt and Wingrove are not pictured. This is Elder Guanuna whose sister, Elena, flew in from Singapore to surprise him before he left to fly back to the USA! It was fun to witness this happy reunion! We miss our joping (departing) missionaries!
On Tuesday afternoon, we ate lunch with the Calls. On our way back from lunch, I stopped to buy a treat wrapped in a banana leaf!
It is sweet sticky rice with a banana inside - we think! Sister Call was sure it was a hotdog in the middle, but the rest of the office staff thinks it was a banana! Haha!
Meanwhile, in Beijing!
Tuesday was also Brady's birthday! Here he is in China eating pizza for his birthday dinner! We also ate pizza on Tuesday - for lunch - with the Calls! I forgot to take a picture so this one will have to do!
We called Brady Tuesday morning and sang happy birthday to him! We miss the Platt family and are so glad they got to spend time with us in Thailand a few weeks ago!
Wednesday morning, we were able to meet Sagar from India. He was such a nice young man and was very excited to come to Bangkok to go to the temple for the first time and to also receive his patriarchal blessing.
Back in the office, we were surprised with a treat from a Sister in the Bangna ward. This is a roti. It is a fried yummy something with sweetened condensed milk! It was scrumptious!
Wednesday evening, we went to the temple. It is a long 1 minute walk away, but we went anyway! haha! On the way out, we ran into this sweet sister from the Chachoengsao Branch that we met a week or two after we got to Thailand last year. She was so excited to see us and we had to get a picture!
I love when the missionaries take a picture for us and I end up with extra photos on my phone!
Thanks Elder Muir! Haha!
Elder Brady takes a picture of the Chachoengsao branch members!
We step in for a picture too! Along with Elders Lewis and Dodini!
Beautiful flowers just outside the temple.
Thursday morning we had another blessing. This is Kshitij from India! He was another fine young man who was so happy to be in Bangkok to go to the temple and receive his blessing! We are so blessed to get to meet so many fascinating people from all over the world!
Thursday afternoon, I baked some cookies! The ingredients are sometimes just a little different than they are back home. But I think these Snickerdoodles turned out pretty well.
I needed to buy some nail polish remover, so I went online.
I ordered this product. I was very surprised to learn that it can also "Remove Yellowing Stains from Raccoons!" I am positive something was definitely lost in translation! Haha!
Let me zoom in. Yes, that says Raccoons!
Friday morning, we headed out on the train to do our last house inspection of this transfer! (ONLY 2 MORE FULL TRANSFERS LEFT AFTER THIS ONE ENDS NEXT WEEK!!!)
We had a little snack on the train! A mini (gummy) hamburger.
The Samut Prakan Zone Leaders are very busy and only had about 20 minutes to clean their place before we got there. They had been at another missionaries place for exchanges and just barely beat us to their apartment.
They must keep it clean on a regular basis because it was very tidy and clean.
And they had time to stop and buy the Brady's some flowers. Have I mentioned flowers and chocolate brings bonus points? haha!
Lunch was at KFC! We had our 99 baht special - 2 chicken breasts, fries, and all you can drink soda for around $3 USD! I am going to miss Thailand! KFC and McDonalds are elevated here!

On the train ride home, we Facetimed with Kevin. (You can see him on the right side of the picture.)
We noticed this lady standing in the corner on the train. Why?
Nikki stopped by to say goodbye this afternoon. She has been working in the Country Office as an intern and will be heading back school to finish her Senior year at BYU Hawaii. She was so sweet to bring all of the sisters flowers! She has been such a joy to work with. We will miss her!
And that is a wrap! It has been another lovely week in Thailand!
We are hanging out in Bangkok this weekend because Elder Brady needs to have some dental work done on Saturday. Next week is transfer, departure, and new arrival week! We are down to our last 2 full transfers in Thailand. I am trying not to think about it! We will miss Thailand so much!
Thanks again for reading the blog!
I hope you have a terrific weekend!
Bye!
